Ray counts it a great privilege to serve as pastor of a church like FBC Belmont.  Since surrendering to the call to preach at age 16, it has been his desire to follow God's will as a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Benjamin Cain accepted the call to be the youth minister at Belmont First Baptist Church in May 2021. He has been serving as a youth minister since August 2016, previously at New Liberty Baptist Church in Glen, MS. While there, he graduated from Blue Mountain College in 2017 and has been teaching with a degree in Social Science Education. He has taught at Burnsville Jr. High School, Water Valley High School, and Shirley D. Simmons Middle School.

Ben is currently teaching 12th grade at Tishomingo County High School and also coaching  boys soccer. He married his wife, Katie, on June 9, 2018. Katie is in pharmacy school and has moved from Oxford to Jackson and back to Belmont. They both have a passion for serving in the church and are extremely grateful to be back “home.” They currently have no children, but they do have a dog, Rufus, that keeps them busy.

Ben is planning on furthering his education by enrolling in seminary (online) once Katie graduates and is a full-time pharmacist. He is excited about being able to learn and grow in the knowledge of our Lord. Ben is grateful to have a mentor like his pastor, Bro. Ray Burks. He has felt welcome and has already felt the impact that Bro. Ray has on this church.

Ben and Katie both are humbled by the amount of prayer and support they already received. They love this church, and want to help in any way they can.
